Public Health Officer

As a vital member of the team you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the wellbeing of everyone on board by implementing and monitoring comprehensive public health practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and enforce all public health policies and procedures onboard to prevent and control the spread of diseases.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of all areas of the ship including food and beverage outlets swimming pools and crew living quarters to ensure compliance with international public health standards.
• Lead training sessions for crew members on hygiene practices infection control measures and public health protocols.
• Respond promptly to any public health emergencies coordinating closely with the medical team and ships leadership.
• Collaborate with international health authorities to stay updated on public health guidelines and ensure the ships operations are in full compliance.
• Manage and analyze public health data preparing reports on health outcomes and compliance levels for ship management and corporate offices.
• Champion health and wellness initiatives for guests and crew promoting a culture of health awareness and prevention onboard.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Public Health Environmental Health or a related field (non negotiable).
• Valid Public Health certification and a minimum of 3 years of fulltimerelevant experience preferably in the maritime industry or hospitality sector.
• Strong knowledge of international public health standards and regulations including those specific to the maritime industry.
• Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct training and effectively enforce health policies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and report writing with good computer skills.
• Fluency in English both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a problemsolving mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to the unique challenges and lifestyle of living and working on a cruise ship.
