Proofreader

This is a remote position.

Phoenix Support Services located in the Philippines is the inhouse support center of Advanced Digital Media Services a startup fullservice digital marketing company in the U.S.

We are seeking a qualified detailoriented proofreader editor to join our team. You must be proficient in basic and advanced grammar rules and understand how they are used within our style guides. Our ideal candidate is meticulous in reviewing copy noting errors such as punctuation spelling and word usage and knows how to check statements for accuracy or potential plagiarism. You must communicate effectively with the writers and other staff to ensure documents meet all company guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and edit documents for grammar spelling and style adhering to company policies.
  

• Factcheck dates and statements for accuracy in written materials.
  

• Confirm the originality of content and provide corrections or suggestions.
  

• Ensure text aligns with specified tone and character count per company policies.
  

• Meet proofreading deadlines and manage time efficiently.
  

• Understand client messages for accurate and relevant proofreading.
  

• Generate original concepts and refine copy for diverse digital platforms.
  

• Collaborate with Content Web development and Project teams to ensure content quality.
  

• Stay updated on changes to style guidelines legal requirements and specifications.
  

• Identify errors in formatting emails web pages and PDFs during production.
  

• Follow up with the team for timely completion of corrections.
  
  

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Content Manager.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience with preference for degrees in English Journalism or Marketing Communications.
  

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Content Writing and/or SEO Writing.
  

• Background in or experience writing articles related to Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
  

• Excellent grammar and communication skills.
  

• Strong factchecking and research expertise.
  

• Familiarity with AP and other style guides.
  

• Proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
