PROCUREMENT LEAD (Permanent)
Our client a locally owned company in WNY is looking to hire a Procurement Lead to join their team. This is position acts as the righthand person to the Director of Procurement (who is a great leader) and is an excellent opportunity with room for growth to Procurement Manager role.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform daytoday procurement functions ensuring costeffective sourcing and purchasing of necessary goods and services
  • Analyze market trends and identify areas to reduce costs
  • Act as the liaison between buyers suppliers operations etc.
  • Possibly manage 1015 members of the procurement team providing guidance and mentorship
  • Manage procurement team providing guidance and mentorship
  • Conduct investigations into and supplyrelated issues to determine the root cause and ensure resolutions are obtained
  • Collaborate with Director of Procurement to develop new processes and procedures ensuring proper implementation by team members
  • Provide educated datadriven recommendations to improve current supply chain and inventory management processes
  • Travel to locations in WNY to assist with centralizing procurement processes and procedures by training buyers making presentations and leading by example
  • Act as liaison for the Company with external vendors and customers building relationships and ensuring smooth transactions
  • Build and negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible cost of goods
  • Create reports and present to visually outline progress for Director and other executives
  • Lead weekly purchasing meetings with buyers outlining any possible challenges and updating on progress
  • Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure Company s operations run smoothly
  • Complete special projects in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary


Details:

  • Position is full time direct hire
  • Position based at Buffalo NY location; however will have to travel to other locations in WNY to support procurement activities
  • $70000 $90000 annually depending on experience
  • Medical Dental HSA FSA retirement match PTO Paid holidays
  • Bachelor s degree in business supply chain management or related
  • Knowledge in automotives/mechanics a plus
  • 3 years experience in Purchasing/Procurement
  • Logistics Supply Chain Planning experience is a plus
  • Strong computer skills Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Selfmotivated
  • Relocation not available
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available
