In the role of a PLC Manufacturing Technician you will be instrumental in optimizing the performance of production machinery ensuring they run with maximum efficiency and reliability. Collaborating extensively with the Engineering team you'll be pivotal in refining the production processes to enhance productivity and minimize waste. Your expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) along with a solid foundation in industrial electronics and maintenance practices will be key to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: High School Diploma/GED required complemented by at least 4 years of industrial or manufacturing experience. An Associate’s Degree in Industrial Electronics or a similar field or completion of a vocational/technical school curriculum in a related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Work Schedule: Must be available to work night shifts specifically from 12AM to 8AM Monday through Friday.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced understanding and ability to interpret Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic with a preference for those experienced in Allen Bradley systems.
- Demonstrated strong troubleshooting capabilities in PLC and electrical industrial systems.
- Knowledge Requirements:
- Solid foundation in Industrial Electricity.
- Proficient in AC/DC Circuits I & II and Control Circuits.
- Experienced with Programmable Controllers and their applications.
- Wellversed in Industrial Instrumentation.
- Skilled in problemsolving for mechanical applications.
- Communication Skills: Effective at understanding and adhering to written and verbal instructions specifications and procedures.
- Ideal Candidate Profile: This position is wellsuited for individuals with a background in Electrical/Electronics Technology Electromechanical Technology Mechanical Engineering Technology Industrial Programming or Electrician work who are eager to apply their expertise in a dynamic manufacturing setting focused on innovation and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties:
- Install maintain and repair mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems within the production facility.
- Conduct preventive maintenance as outlined in our PM Program to prevent operational disruptions.
- Support the Engineering department in the setup troubleshooting and initiation of production equipment.
- Keep detailed records of equipment performance maintenance activities and downtime.
- Participate in documenting process modifications and adjustments.
- In specific departments prepare and test silicone/solventbased lubricants ensuring compliance with viscosity and solids percentage standards.
- Assist in the management and calibration of vision systems to meet production specifications.
- Uphold safety environmental standards and Quality System Requirements (QSR) through leadership and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors regarding equipment status including performance production and waste metrics.
- Guide and support team members in diagnosing equipment issues.
- Engage in additional maintenance tasks as needed showcasing leadership in process improvement initiatives.
