Mechanical Engineer

Tasks

• Perform project inspections on-site or remotely
• Knowledge of mechanical/HVAC and other required permitting processes to ensure compliance with all codes and requirements of the UK
• Lead application and obtaining the required permits
• Study and inspect the existing mechanical system of the hotel and determine the scope of demolition
• Plan, conceptualise, and design the hotel's mechanical systems including but not limited to heating system, hot water, chilled water, sewage, and other plumbing to improve and replace the existing systems
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
• Collaborate with project manager, architects, and the builders on-site or remotely to develop the scope of work and design documents
• Prepare bid documents for contractors and supervise the procurement of required materials and services
• Prepare a project plan, construction budget, and project schedule and manage progress and provide the owner with timely updates
• Negotiate financing with investors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Previous work experience in designing mechanical systems, preference for experience with hotel refurbishment projects in the UK
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
• Must supply all personal hand tools needed to meet the requirements of the job
