Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a Manufacturing Mill Supervisor who is driven and passionate about overseeing the manufacturing process of tubes and pipes. This position will be prepared to become the plant manager and offers opportunities for growth within the company. As the supervisor, you will directly oversee and coordinate the activities of tube and pipe mill workers.

Our Client is independently owned and operated since the late 40's. Their mill is state of the state-of-the-art in Phoenix, AZ that manufactures a full line of piping and tubing.

Responsibilities include:

• Directing and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of steel pipes and tubes.
• Setting up and adjusting machines and equipment.
• Planning and establishing work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
• Inspecting materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintaining operations data and preparing management reports of production results.
• Recommending or implementing measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Conducting employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures.
• Conducting performance management with employees including assisting with performance reviews, counseling and discipline, and recommendations for termination.
• Developing new products and production processes.
• Suggesting or initiating personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires.
• Working with managerial staff and employees to resolve personnel issues.
• Interpreting specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.

Education:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience:

• 3 plus years of experience in manufacturing
• 1 plus years of experience in supervising

Skills:

• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Working knowledge of EPA and other environmental regulations including RCRA, Hazardous Waste, Storm-water, Pollution Prevention, Air quality / Air Permits, and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI).
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in manufacturing computer equipment.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Able to successfully complete hazardous waste handling and management training pursuant to 40 CFR 265.16. and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training - First Responder Awareness Level or First Responder Operations Level, pursuant to 40 CFR 1910.120.
• A minimum of eight (8) hours of annual refresher training is required for maintenance of Hazardous Waste Handling and Management and Emergency Response training certifications.

Communication:

• Bilingual preferred (ability to accurately and proficiently understand, read, write and speak both English and Spanish).

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Valid driver's license issued in the employing state and good driving record.
