The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the Finance function to achieve financial stability and regulatory compliance for SynchroGrid. The Finance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Finance service delivery model including finance systems (technology) process analytics & information management policies & controls and functional performance improvement whilst ensuring alignment with the business objectives.

Other objectives include:

  • Acting as a strategic advisor to the business.
  • Secure finance data and turn information into insight.
  • Skill up and retain any Finance talent.
  • Foster a nimble mindset and enable finance agility.
  • Drive cost reduction with an eye on value.
  • Enhance control and compliance capabilities.

This role will be based in our Bryan TX office.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complying with all company local state and federal accounting and financial regulations.
  • Compiling analyzing and reporting financial data.
  • Creating periodic reports such as balance sheets profit & loss statements etc.
  • Presenting data to managers and company leadership.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Overseeing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Staying informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
  • Researching IRS guidelines as needed.
  • Assisting management in the decisionmaking process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyzing business operations trends costs revenues financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Maintaining vendor files.
  • Responding to all vendor 1099 and employee inquiries regarding invoices expenses and check requests.
  • Overseeing compilation and submission of 1099s.
  • Overseeing the preparation of monthend reconciliations and journal entries in QuickBooks.
  • Overseeing maintenance of accounts payable files and records and process accounts payable.
  • Overseeing the creation of and sending of monthly invoices.
  • Overseeing the management of project creation and maintenance in our BQE Core software program.
  • Reviewing payroll records.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to generate efficiencies and increase the effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Compiling annual reports including sales and use tax returns.
  • Assisting external tax accountant in gathering information and computing taxes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Finance Manager is responsible for:

  • Design SynchroGrid’s finance strategy and roadmap to deliver a service delivery model that effectively supports the business including assessing digital transformation.
  • Lead and mentor the existing finance team fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget financial forecasts and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Produce timely accurate and insightful financial reports including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements for management and stakeholders.
  • Prepare business performance reporting such as revenue and / or cost category analysis and engage with internal customers/stakeholders to ensure all reporting is considered valueadd fit for purpose and supports decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements including but not limited to tax reporting accounting standards and any state and federal requirements for company legal structures (LLC/Corporation).
  • Manage and optimize the company’s cash flow ensuring efficient working capital management.
  • Establish a finance function control framework to ensure adequate governance.
  • Identify costsaving opportunities monitor expenses and implement measures to enhance profitability.
  • Manage SynchroGrid legal and commercial matters.
  • Evaluate financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Evaluate enhance and maintain financial systems and tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead any corporate finance activities such as capital raising and merger & acquisition related work.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s or graduate degree program with a major in accounting or an equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years finance/accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate tax experience.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Strong understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes
  • Computer experience should include a strong familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word).
  • Must be willing to learn new applications.
  • Requires strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Requires a high level of integrity and ability to maintain high confidentiality.
  • CPA is highly desirable.
