Credit Counselor

Description : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced credit counselor to join our team. The credit counselor will be responsible for providing financial counseling and education services to individuals and families who are experiencing financial difficulties or seeking to improve their financial situation. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop and implement personalized financial plans that address their unique needs and goals.

Requirements :

• Proven experience as a credit counselor, financial advisor, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, debt management, credit repair, and other financial topics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Key Responsiblities :

• Meet with clients to assess their financial situation, develop financial goals, and create a personalized financial plan
• Provide guidance on debt management, budgeting, credit repair, and other financial topics
• Educate clients on financial literacy, including the importance of saving, investing, and managing credit wisely
• Work closely with clients to develop and implement strategies to achieve their financial goals
• Monitor and evaluate client progress and adjust financial plans as needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends, and share knowledge and insights with clients and colleagues
• Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to credit counseling
• Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as financial advisors, attorneys, and debt collectors, to ensure clients receive comprehensive financial services

This is a contracted position with negotiable compensation and benefits packages (after 12 month probabtionary period and pending quarterly review). The credit counselor will report to the senior management team and work closely with other professionals in the organization.
