Construction Equipment Mechanic Mid-Level

Position Summary: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Shop Mechanic with successful and progressive experience in daytoday preventative maintenance and repair of all types of heavy equipment including cranes dirt pile driving and other heavy construction equipment.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• To be eligible for consideration all applicants must possess a valid Drivers License.
  
• Must possess their own toolbox.
  
• The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic and/or mechanical experience in heavy construction equipment.
  
• OSHA 10 certification required; FDOT experience preferred but not required.
  
• Ability to operate equipment for repair purposes.
  
• Able to communicate effectively with clients and others.
  
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the construction industry.
  
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  
• Must be able to follow all safety requirements and have knowledge of safe rigging practices.
  
• Must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands; climb and work at heights work in confined spaces and around water.
  
• Considerable knowledge of the methods techniques materials and equipment necessary in the care and maintenance of highways and highway construction practices.
  
• Capable of heavy lifting climbing balancing stooping kneeling crawling crouching and reaching
  
• Must have good vision stamina handeye coordination and ability to estimate size and dimensions.
  
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  
• Able to work outdoors in dusty or dirty areas.
  
• Strong attention to detail and quality craftmanship.
  
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
  
• Adaptive to different personalities and management styles
  
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
  
• Dedicated and hardworking
  

Responsibilities:

• Complete understanding of heavy equipment (on and offroad vehicles) repairs and rebuild process.
  
• Responsible for inspection repairs and performing an operational precheck before putting equipment into service.
  
• Repairs of the lattice boom cranes include mobilization and demobilization and all aspects of the hydraulic mechanical & electrical systems.
  
• Responsible for inventory control on service truck
  
• Must have the ability to research parts in manuals complete material requisitions followup on parts orders as well as returning cores and unused parts.
  
• Must have open line of communication with Fleet Superintendent
  
• Responsible for completing daily activity plans identifying job hazards developing and meeting schedules.
  
• Onsite repairs and maintenance at construction site locations
