(Banking) Business Analyst

Our client is a leading provider of technology solutions and services to the traditional and alternative investment industries. The firm seeks an experienced Business Analyst who is highly motivated and able to manage client engagements with little or no supervision. The successful candidate will possess superior analytical skills to solve business problems with an eye for detail and critical nuance, and strong leadership qualities to manage projects and mentor/train junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Analyst:

• Analyze and troubleshoot functional issues of products and applications
  
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, document functional specifications
  
• Provide guidance & support to the technology team
  
• Work with clients to gather requirements and manage client relationships
  
• Model client requirements for solution development
  
• Assist in solution development for automation or simplification of complex/cumbersome processes
  
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing
  
• Manage projects for timely completion; support handover
  
• Participate in recruitment and mentoring of junior and new business analysts
  
• Help to define goals for the firm
  
• Help to create new opportunities
  

Requirements

Qualifications of the Business Analyst:

• 3-5 years of experience as a business process analyst or technical systems analyst
  
• Bachelor s degree required; MBA is a plus
  
• Strong understanding of Hedge Fund front/middle/back office processes
  
• Knowledge of various systems in the Alternative Asset Management space
  
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Visio
  
• Strong project management & team management skills
  
• Proficient with SQL
  
• Good understanding of SDLC
  
• Analytical skills; attention to detail
  
• Excellent communication skills networking abilities
  
• Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  
• Deeply involved in learning and training, new skill development
  
• Ability to make quick and informed decisions
