Associate Director Landscape Planning LVIA


Our client is a market leading multidisciplinary consultancy who specialise in Planning Architecture Urban Design Heritage Archaeology Landscape Arboriculture & Ecology.

They work on projects at all scales within town semirural and rural contexts across a variety of sectors that includes residential historic sites and estates renewable energy and mixeduse commercial developments. As part of their ongoing growth and constantly evolving portfolio they are looking for a Landscape Planner at Associate Director level to join their highly efficient Landscape team.

Projects worked will be throughout the UK but with the core workload currently coming in from Cambridge and the Eastern region it would be ideal if you were suitably located in these regions.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake site survey work.
  • Produce and/or oversee the production of reports drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development from assessments and strategies to mitigation design.
  • Be client facing and respond to client requirements with the support of senior staff.
  • Clear communication including the ability to contribute to conference calls meetings and workshops.
  • Have the technical ability knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach and develop junior staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multidisciplinary design team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with minimum two years post Chartership experience.
  • Candidates within the last quarter of Pathways to Chartership (P2C) will also be considered.
  • Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture.
  • Technically competent in preparing LVIA/TVIA and appraisals and evidencebase documents to support development plans and policies in accordance with best practice.
  • An understanding of project management including financial control and reporting and programme management and ability to manage own budgets.
