Highlights:

Position Title: Assistant Gardener/ Miniature Railroad Exhibit Operator

Location: Albuquerque New Mexico 87102

Duration: 02 years

Work Schedule: Parttime; generally from 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m each shift. One weekend day and some holiday and evening work may also be required.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Operation of Miniature Railroad Exhibit:

• Includes maintenance of tracks and exhibit items as well as performing minor maintenance and repair on miniature trains and other mini railroad equipment as needed.
• Soldering and other mechanical skills related to small engine maintenance and repair strongly desired.

Landscape Maintenance:

• Participate in a variety of grounds and plant maintenance duties including raking leaves cutting back ornamental grasses pruning of trees and shrubs weed abatement pond and pond pump maintenance setup and planting of new plants.
• Operate a variety of gardening and maintenance equipment and perform general grounds maintenance duties: pick up litter from grounds utilize power blower and vacuum to dispose of leaves and debris and clean associated water features.

To be considered for this position you should have:

• Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply.
• Experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture is preferred.
• Some mechanical experience is also preferred.
• Applicants must be able to perform basic gardening activities including repeated bending kneeling and lifting in variable outdoor conditions.
• Applicants can also expect constant exposure to extreme heat noise dust pollen insects and other environmental conditions as part of ongoing work requirements.
