Accounting Supervisor

Position Overview:

As the Accounting Supervisor you will play a key role in managing the daytoday operations of the accounting department and leading a team of accounting professionals. You will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting reconciliations and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles excellent leadership skills and a passion for driving process improvements and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff including accounts payable/receivable clerks and general ledger accountants.
• Oversee the monthend and yearend close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries account reconciliations and financial statements prepared by the accounting team.
• Develop and implement accounting policies procedures and controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure audit readiness.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decisionmaking and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in accounting operations.
• Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
• Stay current on accounting standards regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles practices and standards (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks SAP or similar platforms.
• Excellent leadership and teambuilding skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Exceptional analytical and problemsolving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
