5 Axis CNC Programmer

Job Responsibilities:

• Creation & Validation of CNC programs for 5 axis Mill/Turn Machines.
• Creation of Tooling Control Sheets to document setup & operation.
• Support of legacy programs including program edits revision control etc.
• Support shop floor in development & running of First Article.
• Support Maintenance & Production with troubleshooting of machinery & tooling.
• Manage selection of cutting tools & holders including specifications & procurement for NPI.
• Support Process Engineering in quotation & estimation of run times.
• Provide input on technical requirements of 5X Capital Equipment selection.
• Drive initiatives to achieve Lights Out Manufacturing including Macro programming in machine probing and pallet system integration.
• Execute a Zero Defects & Right First time culture.
• Propose Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvements to management.
• Provide Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) support.
• Ensure parts are handled and protected in a suitable manner to prevent damage during operations and movement.
• Comply with any other guidelines as defined in the Employee Handbook.
• Comply with company housekeeping standards.
• Adhere to company EH & S Policies.
• To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Technical College Apprenticeship or some College preferred

Experience :

• 1 year in hands on CNC Machining
• 6M in CNC Programming 5 axis (Aerospace Mill/Turn Preferred)
• Knowledge of Aerospace Materials and modern cutting techniques as well as advanced toolpath strategies & the ability to leverage 5 axis mill/turn effectively
• Knowledge and understanding of AS9100 NADCAP and other Quality System requirements.

IT Knowledge/ Requirements:

• Knowledge in Microsoft Word & Excel
• Knowledge in ERP system to attach documents adjust run times and view reports
• Knowledge in 5 Axis Mill Turn CAM software (Hypermill preferred NX acceptable)
• Knowledge in 3d CAD software (SolidWorks Preferred NX Acceptable)
