Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support engineering and design activities for Extra High Voltage (EHV) electrical substation projectsin Saudi Energy (SE). The role involves leading and contributing to the design review and execution of mechanical systems ensuring compliance with international standards client specifications and local regulations.
Your role
Engineering Design & Consulting
- Lead the design and calculation of mechanical systems including:
- HVAC systems
- Firefighting systemsFire protection systems
- Plumbing systems
- DRPC systems for substations
- Ensure all designs meet project objectives company standards SEC technical specifications and local regulatory requirements.
Design Review & Project Delivery
- Prepare and review design packages for:
- HVAC systems
- Fire protection systems
- Plumbing systems
- HVDC Valve cooling and process systems
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality design outputs aligned with project schedules and deliverables.
Tendering & Technical Evaluation
- Participate in tendering activities including:
- Pre-bid and post-bid clarifications
- Technical bid evaluation
- Develop and prepare project technical specifications in line with international standards and client expectations.
Mechanical Calculations & Material Selection
- Perform detailed mechanical design calculations.
- Develop technical specifications and validate system designs.
- Evaluate and recommend materials and equipment from local and international manufacturers.
Stakeholder Coordination & Meetings
- Actively participate in:
- Kick-Off Meetings (KOM)
- Technical discussions
- Project progress meetings
- Collaborate with clients contractors and vendors to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.
Documentation & Project Tracking
- Manage and update project documentation including:
- Design and shop drawings
- Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
- Material submittals and transmittals
- Track project progress using logs matrices and reporting tools.
About you
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical design for EHV substations or similar infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC firefighting and plumbing system design.
- Familiarity with SECstandards and international engineering codes.
Preferred Experience
- Experience workingin EHV substation projects.
- Exposure toSaudi Energy (SE) projects or Middle East utilities sector.
