2. JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Summary of the main purpose of the job as the basic function and scope of the job in terms of organization geographic areas supported financial or other volume/size metrics strategic impact and nature of supervision received or exercised related to the job in a descriptive manner
To work closely together with the construction manager and the project team to ensure that all assigned
projects are executed safely on time and within budget in accordance with the contract and International
Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Areas of Accountabilities (list up to 10 prime activities)

Ensure all assigned works are executed safely on time.
Ensure that all technical drawings and documentation such as WPS Weld Maps and PQR is followed.
Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
When engaging in any activity ensure that you have a valid work permit (Hot/Cold/Isolation etc.).
Attend safety and daily toolbox meetings and under the risk involved with the job.
Perform the welding according to the specific codes and following the drawings.
Monitor materials usage to ensure possible shortages are identified and addressed at the earliest possible opportunity.
Ability and follow pre welding preparations and examine finished welds and ensure they meet standards for excellence.
Inspect the equipment and tools they use while performing their job and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Ensure compliance with Health Safety Environmental and Security (HSES) responsibilities.
4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education Diploma degree or equivalent qualification (Welding apprentice)
Professional Qualifications
(Certifications & Accreditations)
Certified 3G 3F welder (Class Certified).
Competencies Familiar with the common welding types: shielded metal arc welding
(Knowledge Skills & Abilities) (SMAW) gas metal arc welding (GMAW / MIG) gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW / TIG) flux cored arc welding (FCAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW) 3G 3F qualified.
Knowledge and Experience in using electrical or manual tools. Inspecting materials welding equipment and tools. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective
clothing (such as face- shield gloves etc.) Understanding of various welding processes Weld symbols Weld maps
as well as cutting and grinding and gouging operations. Qualifications should be acquired to be assigned to the production
department.
Must be able to collaborate with other departments and communicate results and concerns to the project management team.
Work under pressure and drive a team to completion against aggressive timelines and work scopes.
Experience At least 11-15 years’ experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas
Construction Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.
Languages Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
