Street Lighting Engineer (Roads O&M)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Street Lighting Engineer to join our Roads Operations & Maintenance team in Doha this role you will be responsible for the design installation maintenance and optimization of street lighting systems across our road infrastructure network. You will work to ensure that all street lighting installations meet safety standards energy efficiency requirements and operational excellence while supporting the municipalitys commitment to safe and well-lit public spaces.

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of existing street lighting infrastructure to identify defects inefficiencies and safety hazards
• Analyze lighting performance data and recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Coordinate with contractors and maintenance teams to execute lighting installations repairs and replacements in a timely and organized manner
• Prepare technical specifications drawings and documentation for street lighting projects using CAD and design software
• Troubleshoot electrical and technical issues related to street lighting systems and develop effective solutions
• Monitor and manage lighting maintenance schedules to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime
• Evaluate new lighting technologies including LED systems and recommend upgrades to improve sustainability and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with traffic safety and urban planning teams to ensure lighting designs support road safety objectives
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities repairs and system performance metrics
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and best practices in electrical and infrastructure engineering

Qualifications :

• Proven experience in street lighting design installation or maintenance within roads and infrastructure operations
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems lighting technology and LED systems
• Proficiency with CAD software and GIS systems for design and mapping applications
• Experience with maintenance management systems and electrical testing equipment
• Familiarity with street lighting standards and energy efficiency protocols
• Solid understanding of traffic safety requirements and their relationship to road lighting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and maintenance schedules efficiently
• Knowledge of local regulations and standards applicable to infrastructure in Qatar (preferred)
• Relevant electrical or engineering certifications (preferred)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in technical report writing and documentation
