Job Title: Rigging Team Leader

Experience Required: 8 to 15 Years
Industry: Oil & Gas / Refinery

Primary Purpose of the Role

To lead and execute all types of rigging lifting shifting loading off-loading jacking and sliding operations across refinery units as per site requirements. The role also supports the Rigging Supervisor in planning risk assessment and ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all rigging and lifting operations including loading unloading shifting jacking and sliding activities.
• Ensure all lifting activities comply with QatarEnergy lifting equipment standards and procedures.
• Support in preparation of risk assessments method statements and selection of proper tools and tackles.
• Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and communicate risks to the team.
• Read and interpret lifting plans drawings and required documents for execution.
• Lead and supervise rigging teams providing clear instructions.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks (TBT) and maintain records with team acknowledgements.
• Ensure strict compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and safety procedures.
• Supervise rigging activities for maintenance jobs such as motor pump valve exchanger bundle blower fin fan spool and bearing replacements.
• Coordinate daily routine and shutdown activities with the supervisor.
• Maintain proper communication with the Rigging Supervisor on work progress and scheduling.
• Ensure housekeeping is completed safely after job completion.

Education Requirements

• Senior Secondary School (12th Class) OR
• Secondary School (10th Class) with Industrial Training Certificate (ITI or equivalent)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Relevant rigging and lifting certifications must be provided.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and team handling ability.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety controls.
• Strong knowledge of rigging tools lifting equipment and techniques.
• Ability to read and understand lifting plans and drawings.
• Thorough understanding of PTW systems and safety standards.

Pre-Qualification & Certifications (Mandatory)

• Valid Rigging Certification (recognized in oil & gas industry).
• TPI (Third Party Inspection) Certificates and experience letters must be provided.
• H2S Safety Certification (mandatory).
• Additional safety or lifting-related certifications are an advantage.
