The Senior Electrical Engineer (LV & Primary Substation) will represent the Client on site for all medium- and high-voltage electrical systems including the Primary Substation located within the same plot as the factory.
The role is critical to ensuring safe installation testing energization and commissioning readiness of LV systems supplying the factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Clients on-site electrical engineering and site management representative for all LV electrical systems.
- Provide daily site-level oversight of the General Contractors and subcontractors electrical
- activities from a Client perspective.
- Review comment on and follow up electrical designs shop drawings method statements and material submittals related to LV systems.
- Ensure electrical works are executed in line with approved IFC drawings specifications and project schedule.
- Oversee and monitor execution of LV electrical systems including but not limited to:
- LV switchboards and distribution boards (MDB SMDB DBs)
- Internal power distribution and cabling
- Lighting systems (industrial external emergency lighting)
- Small power systems
- Earthing and bonding systems
- Lightning protection systems
- UPS systems and battery-backed supplies
- Fire alarm systems (power supply and interface coordination)
- Identify constructability issues interface gaps and coordination risks with civil mechanical and process systems.
- Monitor implementation of the approved Electrical Quality Management Plan on site.
- Witness inspections testing and pre-commissioning activities for LV systems including:
- Cable insulation resistance testing
- Continuity and earthing resistance tests
- Functional testing
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering10 years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projectsExperience working in a client-side or Consultant roleProven ability to review and oversee General Contractor electrical worksExperience working alongside PMC / Controller companies
