Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in roads and utilities projects to manage project costs contracts measurements and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective project delivery while maintaining quality and compliance with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Budgeting

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and tender documents for roads and utilities projects.
  • Review drawings specifications and scope of work to identify project requirements.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost planning.

Quantity Take-Off & Measurement

  • Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings for roads drainage sewerage water supply and utility works.
  • Verify site measurements and progress quantities.
  • Prepare monthly valuation reports.

Contract Administration

  • Administer contracts in accordance with project terms and conditions.
  • Review subcontractor agreements and payment applications.
  • Manage variations claims and change orders.

Cost Control & Financial Reporting

  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
  • Track material usage labor costs and subcontractor expenses.
  • Prepare cost reports forecasts and cash flow statements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.

Billing & Payments

  • Prepare interim payment certificates and invoices.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bills and certify payments.
  • Coordinate with finance for timely payments.

Claims & Dispute Management

  • Assess and prepare extension of time (EOT) claims and variation claims.
  • Maintain proper records for contractual correspondence.
  • Support resolution of commercial disputes.

Coordination & Compliance

  • Liaise with project managers engineers consultants and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications and local regulations.
  • Attend site meetings and provide commercial input.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in roads highways infrastructure and utility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts BOQ preparation and contract administration.
  • Experience in roads drainage sewer lines water pipelines and utility corridors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Excel Primavera / ERP systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local authority standards and regulations.
