Child Safeguarding: Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. | |
ROLE PURPOSE: The primary healthcare coordinator should ensure building strong relationship with the MoHP Officials on the level of PHCUs. He/she will play a major role in providing on-job training and technical support for health providers at MoHP supported Primary Healthcare Units (PHCUs) to ensure that they are following MoHP updated clinical guidelines and are delivering quality medical services for refugees and host communities. In addition he/she will be co-facilitating some training sessions for health service providers. He//she will be responsible for supportive supervision over these PHCUs with support of health officer to coordinate with PHC officials. He/ She will be responsible for implementing health awareness activities in coordination with the project CHWs team. He/ She will be responsible for part of capacity building of CHWs with support of health officer. Coordinate with other project components to ensure proper integration of health activities within the program. Coordinate with the supported local CBO to ensure proper support is provided. | |

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Project Implementation Works with the Health Technical advisor Senior Health Officer Technical Health Officer and project team members and beneficiaries to: Conduct field visits to supported PHCUs to monitor of the implementation of services at the PHCUs. Ensure that the health service providers are following the MoHP updated guidelines. Provide on-job training and technical support to the health service providers. Co-train the community health workers and other stakeholders on health promotion methodologies and topics specially; NCDs. Implement health promotion sessions and nutritional screening for refugee and asylum seekers in communities or through coordinating with CHWs team to conduct awareness sessions and nutritional screening. Support in needs assessment procurement process and provision of medical supplies to PHCUs if required. Ensure the accuracy of the projects monitoring & evaluation indicators tracking plan. Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to safeguarding code of conduct health and safety and any other relevant policies and procedures. Communicate with local CBO(s) to facilitate supporting their service provision. Reporting and documentation Regular reporting to the Senior Health Officer with monthly field updates Recording supervision visits reports and updating the supervision database. Draft concise useful and analytical reports case studies and other documents as needed with support of health officer. Participate in planning and developing future programming initiatives with support of health officer. | |

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Must have bachelors degree in medicine and surgery or a related field. Clinical Diploma Masters degree or fellowship is preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in community health activities and/or working at Primary healthcare units in public or private sector. Previous experience in health promotion and raising awareness with similar projects and initiatives. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English. Good report writing skills. Experience with refugee/marginalized communities desired. Commitment to Save the Childrens values and Child Safeguarding. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams. | |
