Reports to: Global Subcontract Leader (Solid Line); Regional Sourcing Leader
Business: Honeywell Corporate / Center of Excellence (COE)
POSITION SUMMARYHoneywell is seeking an experienced Subcontract Category Lead to manage and strengthen a regional network of subcontractors across the Middle East. This role ensures Honeywell has a high-performing reliable and competitively priced supply base across electrical (70%) and other technical trades (30%). Responsibilities include developing subcontractor strategies improving cost competitiveness driving performance and supporting early-stage bid and estimation activities.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Subcontractor Strategy Sourcing & Relationship Management
- Lead sourcing and management for regional subcontractors.
- Expand and maintain a strong reliable supplier base.
- Build relationships with contractors across the Middle East.
- Ensure subcontractors meet Honeywell standards.
2. Proposal Estimation & Pre-Construction Collaboration
- Partner with Proposal & Estimation teams for high-quality inputs.
- Validate estimates and identify risks.
- Support competitive bid strategies.
3. Contracting Negotiation & Commercial Management
- Lead negotiations including rate-card development.
- Standardize subcontract templates and processes.
- Ensure compliance with regional laws and Honeywell policies.
4. Performance Management & Capability Development
- Develop and deploy KPIs.
- Establish preferred subcontractor programs.
- Support capability-building initiatives.
5. Process Tools & Continuous Improvement
- Improve bid package development processes.
- Drive adoption of procurement tools.
- Support cost model and should-cost tools.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field.
- 7-10 years subcontracting experience in EPC or construction environments.
- Strong background in low-voltage electrical trades.
- Strong negotiation relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience in multicultural environments.
Preferred Certifications:
Six Sigma Green Belt CIPS CPM Lean APICS.
