We are looking for a Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of our day-to-day financial operations and payroll for our Israel-based this role you will manage full-cycle bookkeeping and oversee the end-to-end monthly payroll process with a strong focus on accuracy compliance and accountability.
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will ensure compliance with Israeli labor laws and tax regulations support month-end and year-end closing processes and assist with audit preparation. This is a hands-on role suited for a detail-oriented proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across multiple financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Own full-cycle bookkeeping activities through the trial balance stage
- Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for Israel-based employees
- Ensure full compliance with Israeli tax regulations including VAT income tax and withholding tax
- Prepare and submit statutory payroll reports including Forms 102 and 126
- Maintain accurate well-organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
- Work with financial systems including NetSuite Michpal and related tools
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across finance operations
- AI Proficiency & Tech-Forward Mindset: Ability to leverage AI tools to optimize financial workflows automate data analysis and improve the speed and accuracy of reporting.
- 23 years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll
- Certified Bookkeeper (Type 2 or 3) and Certified Payroll Clerk
- Proven experience with full-cycle bookkeeping through trial balance and month-end close
- Strong knowledge of Israeli payroll labor laws and tax reporting requirements
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite Michpal and Excel (or similar systems)
- Experience in a high-tech company or CPA firm an advantage
- Fluent in Hebrew and high-level English (written and spoken)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work independently prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
