ملخص الوظيفة
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design and optimization of plastic components mainly injection-molded parts and panels within a vehicle development program.
The role supports key project milestones (Concept & A-release) by ensuring technical feasibility product performance (durability HIC) and compliance with QDCFS targets.
- Design and optimize plastic injection-molded parts (including 2K) and some aluminum components.
- Ensure concept feasibility (Concept Gate) by optimizing stiffness and critical areas (front lid & corner panels).
- Develop and maintain CAD models using CATIA (solid & surface).
- Support durability and HIC calculations at a high level.
- Manage key engineering deliverables:
- QDCFS
- FMEA
- BCP checklist
- Define and track the L4 project timeline and validation strategy (TR strategy).
- Support prototype development (mainly SLS with some steel brackets) for proof of concept.
- Coordinate within the organization (e.g. VDT structure) and with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure monthly progress tracking and reporting including part list updates.
Qualifications :
- Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent)
- 25 years of experience in mechanical design
- Experience in automotive plastic components (panels injection parts) is highly preferred
- Familiarity with OEM or Tier-1 environments is a plus
Hard Skills
- Strong knowledge of plastic part design and injection molding (including 2K)
- Understanding of design rules for plastic components (stiffness ribs wall thickness etc.)
- Proficiency in:
- CATIA (Solid & Surface)
- ENOVIA / PDM systems
- Basic knowledge of:
- HIC (Head Impact Criteria)
- mechanical durability requirements
- Understanding of automotive development processes and milestones (Concept A-release etc.)
- Experience with SLS prototyping is a plus
Soft Skills
- Proactive and autonomous mindset
- Strong ownership of deliverables
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to navigate complex OEM organizations
- Structured and result-oriented approach
Languages
- English: Fluent (B2 minimum C1 preferred)
- French: Optional depending on project context
