Key Responsibilities & Duties
Technical Analysis: Conduct a thorough review of vessel repair scopes technical drawings and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to identify project requirements.
Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates covering hull mechanical piping and electrical works ensuring all materials and labor are accounted for.
Documentation: Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and precise man-hour calculations based on historical data and industry standards.
Vendor Liaison: Source and evaluate quotations from various suppliers and subcontractors; negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Tender Management: Finalize and submit formal tenders/proposals to clients within strict deadlines.
Project Support: Provide technical and commercial support to the project execution team to ensure the project remains within the estimated budget and scope.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience specifically in shipyard or ship repair estimation.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of dry dock activities marine systems and general shipyard operations.
Analytical Skills: Expert ability to read and interpret complex ship drawings and technical schematics.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Excel and specialized costing/estimating software.
