On behalf of our Tanzania based client we are looking for a competent and experienced Trade Marketing Supervisor.
Job Purpose:
Developing and executing trade marketing strategies that support sales objectives of the company
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS/ACTIVITIES PER KEY PERFORMANCE AREA:
Trade Marketing Strategy Development
- Assist in developing and implementing trade marketing strategies to support brand positioning and sales goals across key retail channels.
- Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment on promotional activities and brand objectives.
Promotional Campaigns
Plan and execute in-store promotions trade shows and retail activations to drive product visibility and sales growth.
Monitor the effectiveness of trade promotions and make adjustments as needed to improve ROI.
Retailer Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners to ensure product visibility and alignment with promotional efforts.
- Regularly meet with retailers to discuss product performance potential opportunities and feedback.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure that trade marketing activities are effectively supporting sales objectives and targets.
- Provide sales teams with necessary tools such as POS materials promotional guidelines and market intelligence to drive sales.
Market Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct regular market research to analyze consumer and competitor behavior track trends and adjust trade marketing strategies accordingly.
- Provide regular performance reports on trade marketing initiatives detailing the effectiveness and recommendations for improvements.
Budget Management
- Assist in the preparation and management of the trade marketing budget ensuring that campaigns are executed within budget constraints.
- Track expenditures monitor trade spend ROI and report on budget variances
Product Launch Support
Support the launch of new products by executing trade marketing plans that maximize visibility and product adoption.
Work closely with the product development and sales teams to ensure that product launches are aligned with trade marketing objectives
Trade Marketing Tools & Materials
- Develop and oversee the production of trade marketing materials (e.g. point-of sale displays posters flyers digital assets) to be used in-store and across retail locations.
- Ensure that all materials reflect the brands messaging and are distributed effectively across channels.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior trade marketing staff ensuring efficient execution of activities and adherence to company policies.
- Collaborate closely with the broader marketing team (brand digital etc.) to ensure integrated marketing efforts.
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously assess and improve trade marketing strategies and activities based on feedback market trends and sales performance.
- Stay informed about industry best practices competitor activities and market changes.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify the departments risks their various mitigations and keep track of them.
Ensure regulatory compliance in execution of activities.
Adherence to all company Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Marketing Business Administration Sales or a related field.
At least 2-4 years of experience in marketing sales or trade marketing.
Strong Leadership potential to effectively drive a business agenda and operational coordination of activities.
Must be of unquestionable integrity Honesty Trustworthiness and Professionalism
Strong Trade Marketing Sales and Distribution Knowledge.
