About the Programme
Join us for the Qatar Shell Summer Internship 2026 a paid 6-8 weeks experience designed to give Qatari engineering students their first real exposure to the energy industry.
Over 68 weeks you will join one of our teams in Ras Laffan or Doha and explore how engineering technology and operations come together to power one of the worlds most advanced energy organisations.
Qatar Shell is one of the largest international investors in the country and home to Pearl GTL the worlds largest Gast Liquids plant. As a summer intern you will gain hands-on experience in this dynamic environment and observe real operations.
This programme is not an assessment pathway; it is an exploration opportunity. It offers early exposure to the energy industry a supportive environment to build confidence and a chance to understand what a future career at Shell could look like.
What You Will Experience
Real Exposure to Engineering & Operations:
Shadow Shell professionals in areas such as Technology MTAC and Engineering.
Observe real workflows technical processes and operational decisionmaking.
Gain insight into Shells performance culture safety commitments and ways of working.
You will be supported by:
A Business Supervisor (project & technical guidance)
A Buddy (daytoday support)
Regular Checkins with HR and Learning teams
Learning & Development
Safety and business inductions
Informal learning sessions on Shell case studies and CAR competency framework.
Weekly reflections to help you understand your impact and growth
At the end you will deliver a brief final presentation and receive a Certificate of Completion.
Who We Are Looking For
This internship is designed for students who are early in their career journey and want to explore the energy sector in a supportive lowpressure environment.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply you must:
Be a Qatari National
Enrolled in year 2 3 or 4 of an university programme
Be studying Engineering (e.g. Mechanical Chemical Electrical Civil Industrial & Systems)
Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (or equivalent)
