Reports To: GSA Management Team
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in airline sales or travel industry sales.
Role Summary: The Sales Manager will be responsible for expanding the airlines market presence and increasing passenger ticket sales in Tanzania. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with travel agents corporate clients and industry partners to promote the airlines network and services.
The position requires an active presence in the market regularly engaging with travel agents travel organizations and corporate clients to identify new sales opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships. The Sales Manager will also collaborate closely with the GSA management team to implement sales strategies achieve revenue targets and support the airlines growth in the Tanzanian market.
In addition to driving sales the role includes overseeing certain administrative and coordination activities to ensure the airlines local operations run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Sales Development

Increase passenger ticket sales for the airline within the Tanzanian point-of-sale market.

Work towards achieving monthly and annual sales targets.

Identify and pursue opportunities to expand market share and increase revenue.

Promote the airlines routes schedules and connectivity to travel agents and travel-related organizations.

Assist travel agents in converting inquiries into confirmed bookings.
2. Travel Agent Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agents tour operators and ticketing agencies.

Conduct regular sales visits to travel agents to promote the airlines products and services.

Identify and onboard new travel agents who can support ticket sales.

Provide travel partners with updates on fares promotions and product information.

Support agents with sales guidance and assist in resolving booking or operational challenges.
3. Corporate Sales Development

Identify companies with frequent travel needs and position the airline as a preferred travel partner.

Develop relationships with corporate travel managers and key decision-makers.

Generate new corporate travel accounts and expand the corporate customer base.

Provide corporate clients with tailored travel solutions and booking support.
4. Marketing and Brand Promotion

Support the implementation of marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives in the Tanzanian market.

Represent the airline at travel trade shows industry events and networking forums.

Increase brand visibility and awareness within the travel trade and the wider market.
5. Market Analysis and Reporting
-
Monitor competitor airlines including their pricing strategies route networks and promotional activities.

Provide management with regular updates on market trends and competitive developments.

Prepare and submit sales performance reports and updates.

Share insights and recommendations that can support the airlines growth in the market.
6. Administrative Coordination
-
Oversee general administrative activities related to the airlines presence in Tanzania.

Ensure smooth coordination between the local office travel agents and the airline.

Assist in resolving agent queries and operational issues when required.

Maintain accurate documentation reports and communication records.

Support the implementation of airline policies procedures and sales initiatives in the local market.

Work closely with the GSA management team on administrative and operational matters.

Maintain a professional and well-organized office environment.
Qualifications and Experience: -
Minimum 10 years of experience in airline sales or travel industry sales.

Strong understanding of the Tanzanian travel trade and aviation market.

Knowledge of airline sales commercial strategies and distribution channels.

Good understanding of airline ticketing systems and distribution platforms.

Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.

Existing relationships with travel agents and corporate travel clients will be an advantage.
