Job Summary
As a Landscape Designer you will be responsible for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing landscape designs for residential and commercial projects. The role includes preparing landscape concepts technical drawings cost estimates and quotations as well as supporting sales activities and assisting walk-in customers at the Garden Centre. This position requires creativity technical knowledge customer engagement skills and a practical understanding of horticulture and landscape implementation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Landscape Design & Technical Preparation:
a. Develop creative landscape design concepts based on client requirements site conditions and budget.
b. Prepare detailed landscape drawings layouts and technical plans using design software and manual methods where required.
c. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather measurements photos and client requirements.
d. Recommend suitable plants materials and landscape elements considering climate and sustainability.
- Quotation & Documentation:
a. Prepare project cost estimates and quotations based on approved designs and client requirements.
b. Coordinate with procurement and operations teams for pricing of materials and resources.
c. Ensure all proposals and quotations are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
d. Maintain proper documentation of design proposals revisions and approvals.
- Sales & Customer Support:
a. Support partial sales activities by explaining design concepts and product selections to clients.
b. Attend to walk-in customers at the Garden Centre and provide professional advice on plants landscaping ideas and garden products.
c. Assist customers in selecting suitable plants and materials based on their needs.
d. Follow up on inquiries and convert design opportunities into confirmed projects where possible.
- Project Coordination:
a. Coordinate with landscape supervisors and execution teams to ensure designs are properly implemented.
b. Provide design clarifications and adjustments during project execution when necessary.
c. Monitor design outcomes to ensure alignment with the approved concept.
- Quality and Client Satisfaction:
a. Ensure high-quality design standards and client satisfaction.
b. Communicate clearly with clients to understand expectations and provide professional guidance.
c. Handle client feedback positively and suggest improvements when needed.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
a. Follow company safety procedures during site visits and project coordination.
b. Identify potential site risks and report them to the concerned team.
- Undertaking other related duties assigned by his/her direct manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Landscape Design Landscape Architecture Horticulture or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in landscape design or a similar role.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD SketchUp or similar).
- Good knowledge of plants landscaping materials and irrigation basics.
- Experience in preparing quotations and project cost estimates.
- Customer service and sales support experience is an advantage.
- Strong creative organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
