Job Summary
The Operator is responsible for operating monitoring and maintaining oil & gas production or processing equipment to ensure safe efficient and continuous operations. The role involves performing routine inspections troubleshooting minor issues and ensuring compliance with Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Monitoring
Operate production/process equipment such as pumps compressors valves separators and control systems.
Monitor gauges meters and control panels to ensure optimal operating conditions.
Record operational data including pressure temperature and flow rates.
Adjust equipment settings to maintain stable production levels.
2. Field Inspections
Conduct routine equipment inspections and report abnormalities.
Identify leaks corrosion or mechanical issues.
Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
Ensure proper lubrication and cleaning of equipment.
3. HSE Compliance
Follow all Health Safety & Environmental procedures.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Ensure work permits and safety checks are completed before tasks.
Report incidents hazards and near misses immediately.
Comply with emergency response procedures.
4. Maintenance Support
Assist maintenance teams during equipment shutdowns and repairs.
Prepare equipment for maintenance (isolation depressurization etc.).
Support commissioning and start-up activities.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate shift logs and operational reports.
Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Process Mechanical Electrical or related field.
Minimum 3–6 years of experience in Oil & Gas operations.
Experience in upstream production facilities refineries gas plants or pipelines.
Basic knowledge of P&ID diagrams and process flow.
Familiarity with control room/DCS systems is an advantage.
