About the Company and Industry

We are established language services provider specializing in translation localization and multilingual content solutions for corporate legal medical and technology sectors. The company combines linguistic expertise with robust project management and technology-enabled workflows to deliver accurate culturally appropriate translations that support clients global communications and market expansion objectives.


Role Scope

The Business Development Executive will focus on growing revenue and client relationships within the translation and localization market. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities managing sales cycles and nurturing relationships with agencies in-house localization teams and corporate buyers. The successful candidate will balance proactive outreach with consultative selling and collaborate closely with operations and project management to ensure delivery excellence.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded experienced in the translation industry and able to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-moving environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Source and qualify leads across target industries (e.g. legal life sciences technology finance) and develop tailored proposals to win translation and localization projects.

  • Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries act as the primary point of contact for commercial enquiries and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Sales Pipeline Management: Manage the sales pipeline using CRM forecast revenue track progress against targets and provide regular sales reports to leadership.

  • Consultative Selling: Understand clients localization and translation needs recommend appropriate service models (e.g. human translation post-editing MT PE transcription) and position the companys value proposition.

  • Collaboration with Delivery Teams: Coordinate with project managers linguists and QA teams to ensure accurate scoping on-time delivery and resolution of client issues.

  • Proposal and Contract Preparation: Prepare commercial proposals quotations and basic contract terms; negotiate pricing and service-level agreements within authorized limits.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends competitor offerings and client feedback to inform product and service development opportunities.

  • Marketing Support: Work with marketing to develop targeted campaigns case studies and materials to support lead generation and thought leadership.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 25 years of business development or sales experience within the translation localization or language services industry.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with translation workflows CAT tools (e.g. SDL Trados Memsource memoQ) and MT/post-editing concepts is highly desirable.

  • Commercial Skills: Proven track record of meeting sales targets strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.

  • Technical: Comfortable using CRM systems MS Office and common sales tools; ability to learn new platforms quickly.

  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated client-focused organized and able to manage competing priorities.

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred.
