Tech Lead, Business Applications Domain

Role Summary

As a Tech Lead within Payoneers Business Applications domain reporting to the Domain Architect you will be a key driver of our cloudnative transformation. You will lead the modernization of legacy systems build foundational infrastructure and elevate engineering practices as the organization transitions to a modern scalable cloudready technology ecosystem.

This role is ideal for a highly independent analytically driven engineer with deep backend and DevOps expertise a passion for dismantling monolithic systems and a desire to shape the next generation of Payoneer technology.

What Youll Do

• Lead CloudNative Modernization:
  Drive the evolution of Business Applications into cloudfirst eventdriven APIcentric services. Work closely with the Domain Architect to design target architectures and guide teams through migration strategies.
• Own Infrastructure & DevOps Foundations:
  Define and implement CI/CD pipelines infrastructureascode GitOps workflows observability practices automated testing strategies and securitybydesign in alignment with Payoneers modernized SDLC and Shift Left engineering principles.
• Break Down Legacy Systems:
  Analyze complex legacy components identify decoupling opportunities and lead the technical execution for transitioning monolithic systems into modular scalable services.
• Provide HandsOn Technical Leadership:
  Set coding standards mentor engineers review designs and guide teams towards resilient highquality backend engineering. Foster autonomy clarity and architectural discipline across development teams.
• Partner Across the Organization:
  Collaborate with product managers architects SRE appsec data teams and operational partners to ensure that modernization efforts deliver real business value meet compliance and reliability needs and integrate smoothly within the broader Payoneer ecosystem.

Cloud Engineering Expertise

• Experience building deploying and optimizing production applications in cloud environments (AWS highly preferred).
• Skilled with infrastructureascode container orchestration networking security and distributed systems practices.

Backend Engineering Mastery

• Proficiency in modern backend languages and frameworks including strong hands-on experience in at least two backend experience in at least two backend stacks.
• Experience with is considered an advantage due to its prominence within Business Applications.

DevOps & Modern SDLC Practices

• Deep understanding of CI/CD GitOps observability monitoring automated testing and environment management.
• Familiarity with modern DevSecOps principles and shiftleft engineering methodologies.

Qualifications

• 7 years of backend software development experience.
• 3 years of technical leadership in an engineering or platform/infrastructure role.
• Proven experience leading modernization or cloud migration programs.
• Expertise with microservices eventdriven architecture API design and distributed systems.
• Experience working in fintech or regulated environments is a plus.
