Mechanical Engineer Inspector
Job Description:
Highly skilled Mechanical Engineer Inspector with 710 years of post-contract supervision experience in reputable consultancy firms particularly on residential developments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in overseeing mechanical works on-site and ensuring full compliance with approved technical specifications project standards authority regulations and quality requirements throughout construction installation testing and commissioning phases.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily site inspections to verify that MEP installations conform to approved drawings specifications and project standards.
Review mechanical shop drawings material submittals method statements and inspection test plans prior to execution.
Monitor construction activities related to HVAC plumbing fire protection and mechanical systems to ensure quality workmanship and schedule compliance.
Issue NCRs site observations and follow-up actions where deviations or non-conformities are identified.
Coordinate with the main contractor subcontractors and supervision teams to resolve technical challenges on-site.
Verify mechanical system installation commissioning and testing in accordance with applicable codes and authority requirements.
Attend technical coordination and progress meetings as required.
Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with QCS international standards and safety protocols.
Prepare detailed site inspection reports test results snag lists and final handover documentation.
Support the project team during commissioning testing and handing over of mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 710 years of post-contract supervision experience in reputable consultancy firms.
- Strong background and proven project involvement in residential developments (mid-rise / high-rise / compounds).
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC chilled water systems firefighting plumbing and drainage.
- Familiarity with local authority regulations and submission procedures (QCDD Kahramaa Ashghal Civil Defense).
- Strong understanding of QCS ASHRAE NFPA SMACNA and other international codes and standards.
- Excellent reporting documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple inspections concurrently.
- Professional registration MMUP/UPDA certification is an advantage.
