Road Structures Inspector

Job Description

Overview

A Road Structure Inspector is responsible for inspecting assessing and documenting the condition of transportation-related structures such as bridges culverts flyovers retaining walls drainage structures underpasses tunnels and sign gantries.

Your role

• Develop project schedules work breakdown structures and resource plans.
• Coordinate with survey design and geotechnical teams for project readiness.
• Review drawings specifications and technical documents.
• Monitor daytoday activities on site (earthworks pavement layers drainage structures).
• Ensure proper execution of embankment subbase base course and bituminous layers.
• Supervise construction of structures such as culverts retaining walls and minor bridges.
• Ensure materials meet standards (IRC MORTH ASTM).
• Conduct inspections tests (Proctor FDD cube tests asphalt testing) and record QC results.
• Verify adherence to design specifications and approved methodologies.
• Maintain daily progress reports inspection checklists and material logs.
• Prepare work progress summaries and submit to project managers.
• Track quantities for billing measurements and contractor payment certificates.

About you

• Strong knowledge of road construction techniques (GSB WMM DBM BC).
• Understanding of structural and drainage works.
• Familiarity with surveying tools (Total Station Auto Level).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Excel MS Project (or Primavera).
• Knowledge of standards such as IRC MoRTH and IS codes.
