Job Title: Cardiology Specialist
Location: Libya

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiology Specialist to provide expert-level care for patients with cardiovascular conditions. This role involves diagnosing and managing complex heart diseases performing specialized procedures interpreting diagnostic results and implementing comprehensive treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have advanced cardiology expertise strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Management

Deliver advanced evidence-based care for patients with a broad spectrum of cardiac conditions including coronary artery disease heart failure arrhythmia and congenital heart disease.
Assess diagnose and manage inpatients and outpatients with cardiac symptoms independently or under senior consultant guidance when necessary.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs echocardiograms stress tests and cardiac catheterization to guide treatment plans.
Lead daily rounds for patients coordinating care with other healthcare providers to ensure holistic management.
Document all relevant patient information accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with hospital policies.
Oversee and perform cardiac procedures within the scope of privileges including catheterizations angioplasty pacemaker implantation and electrophysiological studies.
Modify treatment plans and medication regimens based on diagnostic results ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices.

Leadership & Mentorship

Supervise Assistant Cardiology Specialists providing guidance in patient management clinical procedures and day-to-day responsibilities.
Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to their professional development.
Participate in grand rounds case discussions and interdepartmental meetings to foster collaborative care and continuous learning.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with other specialists and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for complex cardiac patients.
Maintain positive working relationships with staff and promote a team-based approach to patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment options and prognoses ensuring understanding and shared decision-making.
Refer patients to other specialties as necessary providing consultations for patients from other subspecialties.

Education Research & Professional Development

Contribute to the education and training of medical staff including cardiology fellows junior doctors nursing staff and healthcare assistants.
Initiate lead or collaborate on clinical research projects to advance patient care and support the hospitals research vision.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in cardiology applying new knowledge to clinical practice.
Participate in departmental audits and continuous professional development activities to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Uphold the highest standards of patient safety medical ethics and regulatory compliance.
Identify and mitigate clinical risks participating in incident reporting and root cause analysis.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies procedures and medical staff bylaws.
Develop and monitor standard operating procedures for the cardiology department.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

Doctoral degree in a relevant medical field (MD/MBBS specialization in Cardiology).
Minimum 5 years of clinical cardiology experience including inpatient and outpatient care diagnostic procedures and advanced treatments.
Proven ability to lead clinical teams and mentor junior doctors.
High proficiency in invasive cardiology procedures and diagnostic tools (echocardiography ECG cardiac catheterization).
Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience working in the GCC region.
Experience in research teaching or academic cardiology settings.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and drive quality patient care.
