Job Title: Material Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Material Engineer with a minimum of 4–5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector. The candidate will be responsible for material selection inspection testing and ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications. The role involves close coordination with engineering procurement and quality teams to ensure material integrity and performance in oil and gas operations.
Key Responsibilities
Select appropriate materials for pipelines pressure vessels tanks structural components and equipment used in oil & gas projects.
Review material specifications datasheets and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Ensure materials meet international standards such as ASTM ASME API ISO and NACE.
Conduct material inspections review mill test certificates (MTC) and ensure traceability.
Provide technical support during procurement fabrication and installation stages.
Evaluate corrosion issues and recommend suitable corrosion protection methods (coatings cathodic protection material upgrades).
Participate in failure analysis and root cause investigations.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure proper testing (NDT PMI hardness testing etc.).
Monitor material performance and recommend improvements where required.
Ensure compliance with HSE and company standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Metallurgical or Materials Engineering.
Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Strong knowledge of material standards (ASME ASTM API NACE ISO).
Experience in corrosion control and material compatibility in upstream/downstream operations.
Familiarity with EPC projects maintenance or shutdown activities.
Ability to review technical drawings and engineering documents.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of engineering software/tools is an advantage.
