The Tour Guide is responsible for delivering engaging accurate and memorable guided experiences for visitors. This role represents the destination and organization on the ground ensuring guests feel welcomed informed and safe while experiencing the sites cultural historical and experiential offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided tours according to approved routes scripts and schedules.
- Deliver accurate information about the sites history culture stories and significance.
- Adapt tour delivery to different audience types (families VIPs school groups international visitors etc.).
- Engage visitors through storytelling interaction and clear communication.
- Ensure guest safety and follow all operational safety and emergency procedures.
- Manage group movement timing and crowd flow professionally.
- Handle visitor questions confidently and accurately; escalate unclear inquiries when necessary.
- Represent the organizations values image and service standards at all times.
- Coordinate with operations security and guest services teams as required.
- Report incidents feedback or operational issues to supervisors.
- Maintain personal appearance and conduct according to brand and professional standards.
Qualifications :
- Diploma or bachelors degree in tourism history hospitality education or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a tour guide or in a customer-facing role (preferred).
- Strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Ability to speak clearly and confidently in public.
- Fluency in required language(s); additional languages are a strong advantage.
- Good physical stamina (standing and walking for extended periods).
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
