Job Title: Welding Engineer (QatarEnergy Approved)

Location: Qatar
Experience: Minimum 10 Years
Approval: Mandatory QatarEnergy (QE) Approval

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welding Engineer with 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas / EPC projects holding valid QatarEnergy approval. The candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising all welding-related activities to ensure compliance with QE standards project specifications and international welding codes.

Key Responsibilities

Review develop and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
Ensure all welding activities comply with QatarEnergy requirements and applicable international codes.
Supervise welding operations at site and fabrication yards.
Coordinate with QE inspectors consultants and third-party inspection agencies.
Conduct welding inspections and ensure proper implementation of ITPs and QCPs.
Monitor and control welding-related NCRs corrective and preventive actions.
Verify welding consumables materials storage and handling procedures.
Ensure compliance with ASME AWS API and ISO standards.
Review NDT results and ensure acceptance as per project requirements.
Support pre-commissioning commissioning and final handover activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Metallurgical preferred).
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Welding Engineer in Oil & Gas or EPC projects.
Mandatory QatarEnergy approval (valid and verifiable).
Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX AWS API ISO welding standards.
Experience working on Qatar-based QE projects is highly preferred.
Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and lead site welding teams.

Preferred Certifications

CSWIP / AWS Welding Engineer certification
ISO 9001 Internal or Lead Auditor
NDT Level II (VT/MT/PT/UT/RT – advantage)
