Student Conduct Officer

Location:Kuwait City Kuwait
Job Purpose:
The Student Conduct Officer ensures a safe supportive and educational environment by administering the Student Code of Conduct for non-academic violations. This role emphasizes restorative justice accountability and student personal growth while collaborating with university staff and responding to student issues or crises.
Key Responsibilities:
Disciplinary Case Management:
- Conduct impartial and thorough investigations into alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
- Facilitate student conduct hearings and meetings ensuring due process and confidentiality.
- Administer sanctions and educational interventions in accordance with university policy.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records using the designated case management system.
- Prepare and present reports as required.
Student Support & Crisis Response:
- Serve as a resource for staff faculty and students on student conduct policies and procedures.
- Respond to student crises and assist the Director of Student Safety and Well-Being as part of the emergency response team.
- Support students social-emotional growth by promoting awareness of rights responsibilities and community standards.
Policy & Training:
- Assist in reviewing and updating the Student Code of Conduct and related policies annually.
- Develop and deliver proactive educational programs on topics such as conflict resolution respectful behavior social media conduct and student rights.
- Design awareness campaigns to improve general student conduct and promote a culture of respect and accountability.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with Academic Deans Campus Security Student Affairs and other campus partners to address student issues.
- Represent the Office of Student Conduct on committees or working groups related to student matters.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at promoting safety awareness and student engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Communication & Bilingual Competency:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Ability to translate sensitive information accurately between languages.
- Public speaking and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
Professional Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of student conduct processes including investigation reporting and decision-making.
- Expertise in conflict resolution de-escalation and mediation.
- High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy in high-stakes situations.
Technical & Interpersonal Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with case management systems (e.g. Maxient Symplicity).
- Ability to work effectively with students faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings and weekends for emergencies or events.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Higher Education Administration/Student Personnel Counseling Psychology Social Work Human Resources or related field; professional experience may be considered.
- Experience in conflict resolution and managing student expectations in a Higher Education context.
- Experience in developing and supporting policies and procedures aligned with university goals.
