We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Controller to join our team in Baghdad Iraq. As a key member of our finance department you will play a crucial role in monitoring and controlling costs ensuring financial efficiency and supporting informed decision-making across all departments.
- Monitor and analyze all operational costs including food beverage and other expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and forecasts
- Implement and maintain robust cost control systems and procedures to optimize financial performance
- Conduct regular inventory checks and variance analyses to ensure stock integrity and identify discrepancies
- Prepare detailed cost reports and financial analyses for management review and decision-making
- Collaborate closely with finance procurement and operational teams to drive cost efficiency initiatives
- Review and analyze purchase prices supplier contracts and consumption trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies audit requirements and internal control procedures
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting and inventory management
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost management strategies and operational efficiency
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Cost Controller or in a similar finance role preferably within the hospitality industry
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles budgeting and forecasting processes
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with financial management systems
- Excellent organizational skills with a hands-on disciplined and structured working approach
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both finance and operational teams
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and control procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
