Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and problem-solving expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Youll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.
Youll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of On-Board Units (OBUs) installed in EMD freight locomotives. Day-to-day youll work closely with teams across the business (such as the central team Charleroi center and VBN) perform preventive and corrective maintenance and provide technical support to customers. Youll also assess and enhance customer employees competencies equipping them with the knowledge and skills to maintain OBUs effectively.
Youll specifically take care of maintaining test tools and ensuring their calibration but also optimizing repair flows and supporting test runs when required.
Well look to you for:
Ensuring the availability and reliability of the OBU system
Delivering and applying preventive predictive and corrective maintenance
Diagnosing and addressing critical issues proactively
Supervising installation work and coordinating activities of subcontractors or colleagues
Providing technical advice to drivers during service incidents to minimize delays
Supporting and mentoring customer engineers in their maintenance tasks
Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations

Engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in signalling equipment testing commissioning installation repair and/or maintenance
Experience or understanding of anticipation and factual reporting methods
Knowledge of communication ports such as RS232 and office tools
Familiarity with ATC/ETCS and software tools
Overall understanding of railway equipment and their impact on systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Ability to make decisions on the spot and produce detailed reports
Good knowledge of power supply risks and railway safety
