The Material Engineer is responsible for the selection testing inspection and approval of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications standards and quality requirements. The role supports engineering and site teams by ensuring materials used meet technical safety and durability standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Review evaluate and approve material submittals in line with project specifications and standards.
Conduct material inspections testing and quality checks at site plant or laboratory.
Coordinate with QA/QC consultants suppliers and site teams for material approvals and compliance.
Ensure materials conform to relevant international standards (ASTM BS AASHTO ISO etc.).
Monitor storage handling and usage of materials to prevent damage or quality issues.
Investigate material-related non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain records of material approvals test reports and inspection documentation.
Support audits inspections and technical reviews related to materials engineering.
Bachelors Degree in Material Engineering Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 37 years of experience as a Material Engineer in construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of construction materials (concrete asphalt steel aggregates soils etc.).
Hands-on experience with material testing inspection and quality assurance processes.
Familiarity with international material standards and project specifications.
Ability to interpret technical drawings specifications and test results.
Strong coordination reporting and documentation skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
