Job Title: Blood Bank & Transfusion Medicine Consultant

Department: Pathology

SHORT DESCRIPTION

An Excellent opportunity to join as a Blood Bank & Transfusion Medicine Consultant for one of the most prestigious and top tier leading Hospital in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Blood bank and Transfusion Medicine consultant you will be responsible to provide specialized guidance on blood collection testing processing compatibility and transfusion practices to ensure patient safety and an adequate blood supply. Key responsibilities include consulting on complex cases managing transfusion reactions developing protocols ensuring regulatory compliance and educating clinical and laboratory staff on best practices.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide diagnostic and consultative services to physicians and patients in accordance with privileges granted.
To participate in educational programs for the staff Medical Technology students interns residents and participates in continuing education for laboratory staff and staff physicians.
Serve on Hospital and Departmental committees as directed.
Assists with the development and implementation of new techniques and services.
Actively participates in the Quality Improvement program.
perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Graduate from a medical school of good standing.
Should have at least 4 years experience in senior position in relevant section of Clinical Laboratory in a 500 beds hospital.
An Academic background is highly desirable.
Experience in CAP/AABBB accredited laboratory is highly desirable.
Completion of required period of training in blood bank/Transfusion medicine.
American /European Board Certification or equivalent.
Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required
A certificate recognized by the Saudi commission is a must.
Dataflow is a must.

Professional Experience

Min. 3-4 years Post Board/Fellowship in blood bank/Transfusion medicine.
A registered member of the Saudi Board Council

Language

Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.

References
