Job Responsibilities Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in AC/DC motors generators and transformers using multimeters megohmmeters and surge testers. Disassemble motors and conduct detailed inspections of components like windings bearings rotors stators and seals for wear damage or insulation failure. Perform repairs including stripping old windings rewinding coils varnishing and baking to restore insulation integrity. Replace defective mechanical parts such as bearings seals and brushes. Dynamically balance rotors to ensure smooth operation and prevent vibration. Reassemble motors precisely ensuring all components meet manufacturer specifications. Conduct operational tests under load to verify performance efficiency and safety before returning to service. Perform preventive maintenance tasks like cleaning lubrication and insulation resistance testing. Adhere strictly to safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) when working on high-voltage equipment. Complete detailed service reports and documentation for all repair and maintenance activities.
