Section Head Estimation (E & I )
An Estimation Section Head in the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) field within the oil and gas industry oversees cost estimation for E&I scopes in major projects ensuring technical accuracy competitive pricing and alignment with project specifications.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 8 10 years in E&I estimation within oil & gas or EPC environments.
- Certifications: PMP CCP or equivalent is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender Review & Scope Analysis
- Analyze tender documents including ITTs datasheets P&IDs loop diagrams and layout drawings to understand project scope.
- Coordinate site visits and technical clarifications with clients and internal teams.
Cost Estimation & Proposal Development
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical and instrumentation systems including cabling panels control systems and telecom equipment
- Develop BOQs and pricing sheets for EPC bids and change orders.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for E&I components.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications and commercial terms.
Team Leadership & Documentation
- Lead a team of estimation engineers and ensure timely submission of proposals.
- Maintain estimation databases and update cost benchmarks based on market trends.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify cost risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Ensure estimates comply with industry standards and client requirements
Required Skills
o Proficiency in estimation tools and software (e.g. SAP Excel CostX).
o Strong understanding of electrical codes instrumentation standards and oil & gas specifications.
o Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills.
o Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
