TITLE: CULINARY ARTS TEACHER
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL
Primary Purpose:
The Culinary Instructor is responsible for teaching adults of all ages the basics of gourmet cooking along with the importance of daily nutrition. In addition they should provide classes with a fun conversational experience while cooking.
Responsibilities:
Serving as a classroom leader by providing high quality differentiated instruction to students
Setting rigorous academic and behavioral goals for students and investing students in these goals
Planning and delivering content that covers but is not limited to food safety and sanitation commercial food preparation meal production and planning customer service catering and culinary arts
Designing and implementing highquality thorough lesson unit and longterm plans that equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to master daily objectives and gradelevel standards
Preparing leveraging and delivering constructive feedback to students aimed at improving their academic performance
Consistently implementing and enforcing rules and consequences in the classroom setting and schoolwide
Providing continuous evaluation of student progress that is consistent with district established goals and policies and clearly communicating this progress to all necessary stakeholders
Maintaining monitoring and reporting students grade and attendance records
Taking personal responsibility for students mastery of academic standards
Effectively and innovatively incorporating technological resources into classroom lessons
Committing to continual professional growth that leads students to achieve the greatest learning gains
Attending and actively participating in all professional development team planning and data analysis meetings
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in cooking instruction/teaching.
A positive attitude and a willingness to provide exceptional service and to act as a leader in all culinary activities.
