Woodston Personnel is seeking an experienced and board-certified Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care to join the team of a leading hospital in Saudi Arabia. The Consultant provides expert clinical leadership in the diagnosis stabilization and management of critically ill infants children and adolescents. The role focuses on delivering high-acuity evidence-based care; supporting multidisciplinary teamwork; advancing patient safety; and contributing to the ongoing development of pediatric critical care services.
Duties and Responsbilities
Provide comprehensive management of critically ill children with life-threatening conditions including respiratory failure shock sepsis trauma neurological emergencies cardiac conditions and post-operative care.
Lead daily multidisciplinary PICU rounds ensuring individualized family-centered care plans.
Perform and supervise advanced pediatric critical care procedures such as airway management intubation central and arterial line placement chest tube insertion lumbar puncture and bedside ultrasound.
Oversee and optimize the use of mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) high-flow therapies ECMO (if applicable) renal replacement therapy hemodynamic monitoring and sedation/analgesia protocols.
Assess and manage emergency PICU admissions inter-facility transfers and critical events within the hospital (e.g. code blue response).
Ensure safe and effective transition of care from PICU to step-down units or wards.
Provide clinical leadership supervision and mentorship to pediatric residents fellows nurses and allied health professionals.
Foster strong collaboration with pediatric subspecialties emergency medicine anesthesia surgery cardiology and radiology.
Participate in on-call duties as per departmental schedules.
Contribute to the development and strengthening of PICU services and care pathways
Ensure adherence to national and international guidelines for pediatric intensive care
Participate in and lead quality improvement projects clinical audits morbidity and mortality reviews and risk management initiatives.
Promote high standards of infection prevention and control within the PICU.
Support accreditation processes and compliance with patient safety protocols.
Provide bedside teaching and formal instruction to medical trainees PICU nurses and allied healthcare professionals.
Participate in simulation-based training for pediatric resuscitation trauma management and critical care procedures.
Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to departmental educational activities.
Participate in or lead clinical research trials and academic initiatives related to pediatric critical care.
Contribute to scholarly publications conferences and evidence-based practice development.
Support innovation in critical care technologies protocols and quality frameworks.
Support service planning resource allocation and equipment procurement for the PICU.
Contribute to workforce planning performance evaluations recruitment and protocol development.
Represent the PICU in hospital committees multidisciplinary meetings and external professional organizations.
Full time contracts with excellent renumeration and benefits available

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
US Board/ FRCS - Irish UK Canadian New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma dEtudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
Must have at least 3-5years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
