The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in issuing medications and conducting inventory of stock levels. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. Under the supervision of the Pharmacist the Pharmacy Technician may measure mix count label and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
- Retrieves pours counts weighs measures and sometimes mixes medication.
- Support inventory and quality control.
- Performs administrative functions such as answering phones and stocking shelves.
- Prepares prescription labels selects the type of container and affixes the prescription and auxiliary labels to the container.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
- Completes required organizational compliance education including assigned requirements that are client-specified for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications :
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- 3 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician including 6 months within the last year.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Effective oral written communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience Preferred:
- Experience on a military/government site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Remote site experience preferred.
Education Required:
Physical Requirements:
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.
- Ability to multitask prioritize and meet demanding deadlines.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Obtain medical clearance and maintain current immunizations.
- Must be able to relocate to Balad Iraq.
- A valid passport from country of record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Balad.
- The incumbent may be required to perform job related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description. This job description is subject to regular review.
