ROLE PURPOSE: To provide regular technical support coaching and training and coaching to support Country office livelihoods officers coaches and mentors to ensure delivering qualified and unified livelihoods interventions including process system and tools. and to ensure compliance with good practice standards and SOPs of livelihoods programme implementation monitoring and reporting. Other key responsibilities include: supporting projects design pilot and deliver programs; design and support training sessions and monitoring tools; and participating in strategic discussions and planning meetings. The Officer will support livelihoods and management teams to make effective linkages between livelihoods and child poverty programming and other programmes including child protection education and health interventions and facilitate knowledge generation and sharing. The project is funded from the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC) and will be based in Aswan. The project duration is one year from January 2026 to December 2026. The project will be targeting Sudanese community in Aswan based in Aswan field office and the team will be working and based across 3 friendly scpaces in areas with high Sudanese concentration as Karkar and Nasr Elnuba working on multisectors: - Child Protection: case management for children exposed to protection risks besides providing emergency cash and protection for cash. It will also include mentorship program for children especially the unacompanied and separated children. Additionally there will be capacity building for community leaders and teachers on CP and safeguarding. Furthermore there will be awareness raising for children on their rights besides awareness for their parents as well. - MHPSS: providing groups and individual mental health and psychosocial support to the children in groups and also individually according the care plan of each child. There will be also positive parenting groups conducted for the parents. Moreover there will be community events held to enhance their wellbeing and integration. - Education: it will include renovation for community learning centers of Sudanese community beside training to the teachers on the main technical and socio-emotional mechanisms. The project will provide education grants as well for the children enrolled in these centers. There will be also programs provided to the children who dropped out to enable them to return back to school and other program for children who have weak literacy skills. - Livelihood: the component will have two tracks; wage employment and self employment. The 1st track will include capacity building for the beneficiaries followed by matching to employment opportunity. Beneficiaries will be supported by cash assistance and apprenticeship for 3 months. The 2nd track will be self employment starting with capacity building for the beneficiaries then provision of seed fund to start their business. Beneficiaries will have at least 3 month of coaching and monitoring. Vocational training will be also provided based on need. - Cash Assistance: the project will provide multipurpose cash assistance for vulnerable families besides winteriation assistance as well. There will be also awareness raising on money management for those receiving the cash assistance. - Health: will include emergency nutrition screening and rapid nutritional support provided to newly arrived crisis-affected children and women. Additionally there will be support to the public health system by training provision to staff and providing medical supplies. There will be also trainings for mental health and GBV-related service providers in Aswan. The project will support the establishment of health service points within the community to provide health care services as check up and also providing cash for health. Gender will be mainstreamed across all sectors with focus on gender equality in awareness sessions girls empowerement and health and protection support for GBV cases | |

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Program design and implementation: With the support of the livelihoods Technical Advisor collaborate with the Child Protection/Education/MHPSS Officers to develop and adapt evidence-informed content for livelihoods activities including livelihoods model strategies methods and tools and awareness materials relevant to livelihoods concerns in the local community. Design implement and monitor the livelihood component of the project to ensure its effective management and efficiency in time and resources. Structured livelihoods interventions for children and families: Apply the office livelihoods manuals materials and tools in the implementation of the project livelihood component Participate in designing a comprehensive interventions capacity building plan for livelihoods teams and others stakeholders representatives Monitor quality implementation and provide ongoing identification of training and capacity support needs Ensure coaching and monitoring tools are applied for the beneficiaries receiving support from the project. Conduct analysis of the data to ensure there is progress in beneficiaries economic conditions. Manage and oversee the incubator and the operations provided to the beneficiaries. Person-focused livelihoods supports to children and families to ensure improving the socioeconomic status Collaborate with the livelihoods technical Advisor in the identification of relevant person-focused intervention models and packages for children and families Provide technical and operational support to livelihoods coordinator and coaches management in the area of livelihoods including wage and self-employment strategies and interventions Support and monitor the implementation of livelihoods interventions care plans with special attention to risk assessment and safety concerns and ensure proper documentation of decisions and outcomes. Develop and monitor the quality of the delivered seed funds to ensure the sustainability of the business MEAL: Collaborate with MEAL staff to oversee the field-level implementation of robust monitoring evaluation and learning systems for MHPSS activities. Oversee the safe and ethical collection storage and reporting of Livelihood program data. Coordination and operational support: Work with program project and area managers at the field level to ensure that the necessary operational support is in place for Child Protection/Education/livelihoods /MHPSS Officers to carry out their duties. Provide ongoing feedback to the Livelihood Technical Advisor about operational needs and funding needs at each field location to inform proposal development and national regional and global advocacy. Provide technical capacity building support including training coaching and technical oversight to support the use of SCIs common approaches in livelihoods creation of platforms for cross-learning based on after action reviews. Support in the implementation of the locally adapted models methods tools and approaches based on field work experience in Egypt Coordination and operational support: Work with program project and area managers at the field level to ensure that the necessary operational support is in placelivelihoods Officers and coaches to carry out their duties. Provide ongoing feedback to the livelihoods Technical Advisor/specialist about operational needs and funding needs at each field location to inform proposal development and national regional and global advocacy. Safeguarding Policy: Support in the mainstreaming of Save the Childrens safeguarding policy within livelihoods and social protection programs design and implementation; including identifying and addressing risks to children that are caused/exacerbated by programme design and intervention. Collaborate with the Program Operations teams to ensure that activities are safe for children and adults and that all steps are taken to ensure their meaningful and safe participation. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor Degree in development economics international development or a related field is required Minimum 5 years experience in livelihoods poverty reduction programming in in a humanitarian and development program context | |
