Job Overview:
The Spray Painter (Shipwright Department) will be responsible for preparing and painting surfaces of ships machinery and metal structures using spray painting techniques. The role involves surface preparation paint mixing application of coatings and ensuring the highest standards of quality and finish. The candidate must have hands-on experience in industrial or marine painting within the shipyard or heavy fabrication environment.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
Perform surface preparation including cleaning sanding masking and priming before painting.
Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
Apply primers intermediate and finishing coats using airless or conventional spray systems.
Inspect painted surfaces for uniform coverage color accuracy and finish quality.
Follow proper procedures for surface protection and paint curing.
Operate and maintain spray painting equipment and tools safely.
Ensure all paint materials are stored and handled properly following safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production and quality targets.
Comply with company health safety and environmental (HSE) policies during all activities.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: ITI / Diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
Experience: Minimum 36 years of experience in spray painting within shipyard industrial or fabrication environments.
Gulf experience preferred.
Familiarity with marine coatings epoxy polyurethane and anti-corrosive paints is essential.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in airless and conventional spray painting techniques.
Good knowledge of surface preparation methods and paint systems.
Ability to achieve smooth uniform finishes with attention to detail.
Understanding of safety standards for handling paints solvents and equipment.
Team-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.
Physically fit to perform painting tasks in confined spaces or at heights when required.
Basic English communication required; Arabic is an advantage.
